Geoff Fisher - Rising to the Challenge Exhibition "Rising to the Challenge"
by Geoff Fisher

Five months after a near-death experience at Challenge Stadium, Geoff Fisher, multi- award winning professional photographer and Masters Water Polo Player is returning to host "Rising to the Challenge".

Featuring local swimmers in stunning works of art, the exhibition will coincide with Heart Swim week being held at Challenge.

"Rising to the Challenge" is based on Geoff´s experience with a serious virus that damaged his heart and left the super-fit veteran water polo player fighting for life on the pool-deck. Now back in the pool, Geoff struggled through blood-clot induced paralysis, lengthy hospital visits, rehabilitation, wheelchairs and crutches.

Opening night, Friday 6th November, will be hosted in the Foyer of Challenge Stadium. Profits from the exhibition have been pledged to the Heart & Lung Transplant Foundation in aid of the work championed by cardiothoracic surgeon and masters water polo player, Dr. Rob Larbalestier. A fellow teammate and long-time friend of Geoff, Dr. Larbalestier was swimming at Challenge when Geoff’s heart stopped. He literally saved Geoff´s life.

The exhibition features Geoff’s own work with contributions from Henrik Tived and Richard Syme. All prints are on Kodak Metallic Paper. Art images on glass and artistic images of swimmers will be featured and everything is for sale.
